Privacy Policy

Smart PDF Converter for iPhone. Effective 8 October 2026.

The short version

Smart PDF Converter collects no data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server. The app makes no network connections, and nothing you open in it is sent to us or to anyone else.

Your files

Files you pick, photos you take and the PDFs you make are processed on this iPhone and stored in the app’s own storage. They appear under On My iPhone in the Files app. They leave the device only when you share, print or export them yourself, or as part of an iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on.

Photos and camera

Photos open in the system picker, which gives the app only the pictures you choose. The camera is used only when you choose Camera, to capture a page.

Face ID

If you turn on app lock, iOS checks your face, fingerprint or passcode and tells the app only whether it matched. The app never receives biometric data.

Passwords

When you remove a password from a PDF, the password you type is used once, on this iPhone, to open that file. It is not stored or sent anywhere. The app does not add passwords to PDFs.

If you email us

If you write to support, we receive your email address and whatever your message contains, and use them only to reply to you. Messages are kept in the support mailbox, which Google provides as Gmail, for no longer than needed and at most two years after your last message. Ask and we will delete them sooner. We never sell them, share them or add you to a mailing list.

Information from Apple

Apple handles downloads and updates under its own privacy policy. If you have turned on Share With App Developers in Settings, Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send us crash reports and usage statistics. Apple does not identify you in them, and you can turn this off at any time.

The website

The app’s privacy and support pages on the web are hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub records visitors’ IP addresses in its server logs under GitHub’s own privacy statement. We add no cookies, analytics or tracking of our own.

Do Not Track

Neither the app nor its website tracks you, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control signal to turn off. Both are respected by default.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children under 13. We do not knowingly receive personal information from children; if a child has emailed us, ask and we will delete the message.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask what personal information we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. In practice the only thing we could hold is a support email. People in the European Union, the United Kingdom and California, among others, have these rights by law, and may also complain to their data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information, and never use it for advertising.

Deleting your data

Delete a document in the app, or delete the app to remove everything it has stored on this iPhone. To have a support email deleted, write to the address below.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear in the app under Settings, Privacy Policy, and at the Privacy Policy link on the App Store, with a new effective date.
